Solemn Profession and Diaconate Ordination September 2018
On 28 September 2018, Our Delegature was blessed with 4 confreres that made their solemn consecration in the Society. The Provincial Fr Helmut Scharler was the main celebrant in this noble event. In his homily he enlightened all present with the great importance of Change. He said that we undergo a transformation on our Christian Journey which eventually brings us closer to the likeness of Christ. After his homily we saw indeed the change happening before us as the final professed dressed up in their full final professed habit; looking amiable with their crosses. We welcome Bro Meshack Tebogho Dlamini, Bro Hermes Vincent Chaponda, Bro Ndumiso Praising Mkhize and Bro Innocent Mulungisi Sosibo as full members of the Society.
The celebration also saw two young brothers making their first profession. Bro Bruno Mukhupa and Bro Joseph Banda were given the privilege of making their first promises to the Society. The two hours celebration was solemn and joyful, graced with the presence of many Pallottine confreres and friends, family and lay people.
On the feast of the archangels, 29th September, the celebration continued when two of the final professed were welcome into the order of diaconate. Rev Innocent Sosibo and Rev Ndumiso Mkhize, both from KZN, became our new Pallottine deacons. They were joined by a candidate from Marianhill missionaries, Rev Owen Patrick Jimu from Malawi. The main celebrant was Cardinal Wilfred Nepiar who was franked by The Provincial of Heart of Jesus Province and Fr Bheki Shabalala, the Provincial of the KZN CMMs, and more than 20 other priests at the altar during this celebration
It was Solemn, ordered, joyful and great. We are grateful to God the gift of this great weekend and we ask him to bless our first and final professed confreres and give them all the graces that they need in their Vocation through the intercession of Vincent Pallotti.
After the celebration The Provincial Helmut Scharler SAC signed the contract with Cardinal Wilfred in the presence of the Provincial Delegate, Fr Cosmas, and on behalf of the confreres working and will work in the archdiocese of Durban.
